The EU Military Committee will meet on Monday and Tuesday in Brussels at the level of the EU Chiefs of Defense Staff. The meeting will be chaired by General Robert Praeger, Chairman of the Committee.
The EU Chiefs of Staff will discuss the status quo and the way forward for implementing the Strategic Compass, including the EU's rapid deployment capacity and the area of ​​capacity development.

During the session where the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee was invited, the members of the Joint Military Commission will exchange on the progress made in the framework of the military mobilization.
The next two sessions will be devoted to future missions and operations, an update on the EU Military Assistance Mission in Ukraine, and potential new activities.
This comes hours after the end of the European summit hosted by Brussels on Thursday and Friday, whose final statement dealt with developments in Ukraine and the leaders' affirmation of their commitment to continue providing support to Ukraine in various ways. Commenting on this matter, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow does not perceive the European Union's readiness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine by peaceful means.
