French Presidency: Macron and Sunak hold their first summit meeting on the sidelines of COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh

The Elysee announced that French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will meet later in Sharm El-Sheikh, on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-27), which Egypt is currently hosting, for the first time since the latter took office.
This came in a statement issued by the presidential office in Paris a while ago, noting that the two leaders spoke on the phone in late October, as the British government said that Macron and Sunak agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries to prevent the crossing of illegal immigrants across the English Channel separating France. and Britain.
French news site The Local reported Monday morning that dozens of heads of state and government, including Macron and the newly appointed Sunak, are expected to meet on the sidelines of the COP-27 climate summit that kicked off on Sunday.
Dozens of leaders are expected to attend the second day of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties in Egypt.
