In our next meeting, we will first discuss Ukraine. At the beginning of the meeting, President Zelensky will join us by video conference. And, as always, we will reaffirm our firm commitment to helping Ukraine. This includes pursuing work on accountability, using frozen Russian assets and rallying the global community behind the rules-based international order.
Crucially, since our last meeting in February, we have worked to urgently increase our production and deliveries of ammunition to Ukraine. Our aim is to supply Ukraine with 1 million rounds of ammunition within the next twelve months, ensuring adequate funding. To this end, we will need to take action. Measures to strengthen the manufacturing capacity of the European defense industry.
Building on the February European Council, which focused on a number of immediate measures, we will also discuss the long-term competitiveness of the EU and the deepening of the single market. In addition to the Authority's recent proposals on this issue, it is time to fully utilize our strengths and address our shortcomings. This includes studying ways to enhance the European Union's capacity for innovation, and strengthen our capital markets union in order to stimulate investment to strengthen our technology base and achieve green and digital transformations. We will also have an in-depth exchange of views on our trade policy in light of the current geopolitical context.
