The member states of the European Union agreed during a meeting today, Monday, at the ambassadorial level, to put the CO2 standards agreement for automobile emissions on the agenda of the Council of Ministers of Transport and Energy, scheduled for Tuesday in Brussels, for final approval.
Last mid-February the European Parliament gave the go-ahead for the possibility of zero-emission mobility by 2035. And from 2035 all cars and vans that roll off the assembly line must meet a target of 100% - zero emissions.
This was passed by the European Parliament on February 14 in the final vote on new CO2 emission standards for cars and vans.
Tomorrow, March 28, EU energy ministers will seek to adopt general guidelines on the hydrogen and decarbonized gas market package. During a meeting chaired by Swedish Minister of Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Bush
The gas market package includes proposals to revise the directive related to the common rules for renewable gas, natural gas and hydrogen, and the decree related to the internal markets for the aforementioned gases. “I look forward to the first meeting of the Transport, Communications and Energy Council on energy issues during the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and I hope that we can reach a general approach on the gas market package and a political agreement on the Council’s regulation on coordinated measures to reduce gas demand. Both proposals are important for our independence from gas. Russia,” said the Minister of Energy, Business and Industry, Ebba Bush.
