For Ukraine's accession to the European Union...a difficult German condition to achieve...the elimination of systemic corruption

Brussels-Berlin: Europe and the Arabs and agencies
At a time when some European institutions and member states of the Union are seeking to prepare European public opinion for the idea of accepting Ukraine's membership in the unified bloc, even if it does not fulfill all the required conditions, taking into account the conditions that Kiev is going through under the Russian aggression.
Everyone was surprised by a German condition that news agencies described as a condition that is difficult to achieve. German Foreign Minister Analina Birbock said that Ukraine is required to completely eliminate systemic corruption in its institutions in order to be able to join the European Union.
According to the newspaper "Die Welt", Birbock expressed this idea on the sidelines of the London conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, stressing that "30 years of nepotism must end, and it must be made clear that corruption has also ended."
According to what was reported by the Cairo-based Youm7 website, the newspaper's readers responded to the minister's statement with a sense of humor, pointing out that joining the European Union does not mean the absence of corruption in all EU countries.
“Didn’t Mrs. Beerbock tell her party that nepotism must end?” wrote Yvonne.S., while Lisbeth.M. wrote: “I am certainly for the rule of law and certainly against nepotism and corruption, but if these are the real conditions in the EU, how many Which countries should leave the European Union as quickly as possible?
Paul K wrote commenting: "If we remove the European Union countries in which there is corruption, the European Union will be very small or it will not exist at all. Germany will come out first."
Earlier, Western media reported that Kiev had met only two of seven conditions necessary to start formal negotiations on joining the European Union.
