Under the title “Addressing discrimination based on religion,” Stefano Sannino, Secretary General of the European External Action Department, hosted a discussion with the participation of Stella Rono, the European Union Ambassador for Gender and Diversity Affairs, as well as the European Union spokesman in the Middle East and North Africa, Luis Bueno, and other figures.
The latter wrote this Friday morning in a post on the X website, “formerly Twitter,” in which he said, “I was pleased to participate in a discussion with my colleagues in the European Union office in Brussels about the importance of combating discrimination based on religion. I stressed the Arab and Islamic culture specific to our European history. We need to build Bridges through dialogue to understand each other
Regarding the discussion that took place yesterday, Thursday, in Brussels, the Secretary General of European External Action, Stefano Sannino, said in another post, “From external action to internal affairs, we listened to the contributions of staff, from headquarters and delegations around the world, on the measures we can take forward.” Important discussion
For her part, Stella Rono wrote a post in which she said, “European External Action Department staff talk about religion as a factor in EU diplomacy and discrimination based on religion. Goal: Exchange views to increase our understanding and enhance our inclusivity, externally and internally. Diversity is important.”
It is noteworthy that the European External Action Department is under the leadership of Josep Borrell, the European Union’s Foreign and Security Policy Coordinator.
