The European Union offers condolences to Kuwait on the death of the Emir of the country and pledges to continue working for a strong and lasting partnership.

A European statement issued in Brussels said that the European Union received with sadness the news of the death of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait. Through the statement issued by Ursula Wunderlein, Head of the European Commission, and Josep Borrell, European Foreign and Security Policy Coordinator, the European Union expressed its condolences and sympathy to the Al-Sabah family, the people and the government of Kuwait.
The statement also said, “The European Union remembers the late Emir’s dedication and steadfast commitment to serving his country, even in turbulent times. He will be remembered by everyone who works for regional stability and mutual understanding between countries.”
At the conclusion of the statement, the European Union pledged to continue working to consolidate a strong and lasting partnership with the State of Kuwait and its people.
