Gaza – Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned of a sharp deterioration in the situation in the Gaza Strip as winter approaches, given the widespread destruction that has left hundreds of thousands of families without shelter and basic necessities.
The UN expressed concern over the slow flow of aid, noting that only 37,000 tons have entered Gaza, compared to 190,000 tons stored outside the Strip. It also explained that the entry of supplies remains restricted to only two crossing points, with ongoing restrictions on goods and personnel. For its part, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned of a worsening health crisis, confirming that more than 16,500 patients are awaiting urgent evacuation. According to Euronews, a European news network based in Brussels, on Sunday morning:
This comes as Doctors Without Borders called on Israel to allow the evacuation of thousands of patients abroad due to the lack of medical care in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In the occupied West Bank, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire in the al-Far'a refugee camp south of Tubas, while 14 others were injured in attacks carried out by settlers in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron, south of Nablus, and east of the town. These attacks included assaulting homes and throwing stones at residents, resulting in injuries to one person.
The United Nations recorded approximately 264 attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank last October, the highest monthly figure since monitoring such attacks began in 2006. According to media reports citing Hebrew media, the former Israeli military prosecutor was hospitalized after a suspected suicide attempt. A report by the Brussels-based European News Network (ENN), titled "Israeli Transport Minister: Annexation Steps Continue on the Ground," quoted Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev as telling Channel 12 that her ministry is proceeding with the de facto annexation of the West Bank, asserting that Israeli sovereignty will ultimately be achieved there. She added that the US administration is aware there is no alternative, noting that the ministry is already exercising de facto sovereignty by building roads and lighting networks to serve settlers.
This comes after the UN Human Rights Office stated that settler attacks continue in the West Bank and called for accountability for settlers and Israeli security forces involved in these attacks. The spokesperson for the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Thamin al-Khitan, told a press conference of UN agencies in Geneva that the Office had confirmed that between October 7, 2023, and November 5, 2025, Israeli security forces and settlers killed 1,010 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. This number included 215 children.
Al-Khitan said, “We have seen an increase in attacks recently, particularly with the olive harvest season. These attacks must stop, and there must be accountability.”
He explained that 757 attacks were recorded in the first half of 2025 alone, a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
He also referred to the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of Israel’s presence in the occupied Palestinian territory.
