Aguila Saleh: The Libyan Parliament is the decision-maker in the country

The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, said on Saturday that the House of Representatives is the "decision-maker" in the country, and that the State Council has an advisory mission only.

The Libyan Africa News Portal quoted Saleh's remarks, "The constitutional document must be subject to a popular referendum before it is adopted," explaining that the disruption of the electoral process, last year, was not "constitutional or legislative."

He added that the armed groups in Tripoli are behind the disruption of the electoral process, and that external interference also contributed to the disruption of the electoral process in Libya.

On the other hand, the Speaker of Parliament said, "We must all cooperate in order to get Libya out of its political crises."
