Lausanne – Brussels: Europe and the Arabs

In a statement received on Wednesday, the international sports court announced: "This is a procedural statement addressed to the media regarding the hearing for the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The hearing will take place in person at the headquarters of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. The date was set following consultation with the parties involved, none of whom requested a public hearing; consequently, the proceedings will be held behind closed doors and without media presence.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM and is expected to conclude in the afternoon. Following the hearing, the arbitration panel will begin its deliberations. At this stage, the CAS cannot specify a date for the final decision, though it will not be issued on the day of the hearing itself.
Representatives from the FSF and the FRMF will attend in person in Lausanne, while the CAF will be represented by its lawyers. The arbitration panel consists of the following individuals:

Professor Dr. Ulrich Haas (Germany)
