The European Union punishes the perpetrators of grave human rights violations in Iran .. Adding 11 people, including a minister, and 4 entities, including a security body, to the sanctions list

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The Council of the European Union on Monday added eleven individuals and four entities to the list of those subject to restrictive measures in the context of Iran's current human rights sanctions regime. This is in light of their role in the killing of Mahsa Amini and the violent response to the recent demonstrations in Iran.
Today's classifications include those responsible for the murder of Mahsa Amini: Iran's morality police and two of its main figures, Mohammad Rostami and Hajj Ahmad Mirzai.
In addition, the European Union has included Iran's Law Enforcement Forces (LEF), as well as a number of its local chiefs for their role in the brutal suppression of the protests. Moreover, the European Union listed Issa Zaribour, Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, as responsible for cutting off the internet.
According to a European statement distributed in Brussels, "The measures imposed today consist of a travel ban and an asset freeze. In addition, EU citizens and companies are prohibited from making funds available to listed individuals and entities. Iran's human rights sanctions regime also includes a ban on the export of equipment that may be used In internal repression and communications monitoring equipment to Iran.
The list now includes a total of 97 individuals and 8 entities.
The statement concluded by saying, "The European Union and its member states condemn the widespread and disproportionate use of force against peaceful demonstrators. This is unjustified and unacceptable. People in Iran, as elsewhere, have the right to peaceful protest and this right must be guaranteed in all circumstances."
The EU expects Iran to immediately halt its violent crackdown on peaceful protesters, release those detained, and ensure the free flow of information, including access to the Internet. Furthermore, the EU expects Iran to clarify the number of dead and detainees, and to provide due process for all detainees. The murder of Mahsa Amini must be properly investigated and anyone found responsible for her death held to account
