The Eurogroup meeting will be held this Monday afternoon in Luxembourg, according to a statement issued by the European Commission, in which a number of officials will participate in the meeting. Ministers will discuss the macroeconomic situation in the Eurozone and the policy response to rising energy prices and inflationary pressures. Opinions will also be exchanged with the Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. They will also discuss the eurozone's priorities in recovery and resilience plans (RRPs) and implementation of recommendations for the eurozone.
Building on contributions from the European Central Bank and the Commission, ministers will discuss the role of public and private sector participants in the euro digital ecosystem. The European Commission delegation will also participate tomorrow in the meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Finance, also in Luxembourg. The EU's economy and finance ministers will exchange views on rising energy prices and financial markets, following a presentation by the Commission on the current situation.
The Board will discuss the proposed Bylaw on REPowerEU's Chapters in Recovery and Resilience Plans, with a view to agreeing on the Board's position on the text.
The ministers will also discuss the economic and financial impact of Russia's aggression on Ukraine.
The Commission will present the review report on the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility, which will be followed by an exchange of views. The Council is expected to adopt its executive decision under the Dutch National Recovery and Resilience Facility.
The Council is expected to endorse the EU's mandate and statement to the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), in preparation for the G-20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors on 12-13 October 2022 and the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund.
The council aims to endorse the outcomes on climate finance before the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh in November.
The Council will discuss the financial and non-financial role of EU customs. The current presidency of the Federation will brief the Ministers on the status of the current legislative proposals in the field of financial services.
In addition, the Commission will update Ministers on the status of implementation of current financial services legislation.
Finally, ministers are expected to adopt the EU Minimum Wage Directive, on which a political agreement was reached in June 2022.
