Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
Executive Vice-Presidents of the European Commission Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovskis will participate in the third ministerial meeting of the European-American Trade and Technology Council (TTC), scheduled for Monday at the University of Maryland, College Park. The US delegation is led by United States Trade Representative (USTR) Catherine Tay, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo.
According to the European Commission's announcement in Brussels, Executive Vice President Dombrovskis and US Trade Representative Catherine Tay will start the first Trade and Labor Dialogue, together with labor and business representatives.
This will be followed by a ministerial discussion of the TTC which will focus on geopolitical challenges, the digital economy and priority areas for 2023. During a working lunch, participants will discuss the Inflation Control Act and mutually supportive sustainable trade and supply chains.
Finally, they will hold a stakeholder event with representatives from academia, industry associations, and civil society.

The EU and the US launched the TTC at their summit in Brussels on 15 June 2021. The TTC serves as a forum for the EU and the US to coordinate approaches to addressing key trade and technology issues, and to deepen transatlantic cooperation in this area based on shared democratic values. 10 working groups have been formed covering issues such as standards, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, export controls and global trade challenges.
