Germany is discussing partnership in the field of renewable energy with the Libyan Oil Corporation

The German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Unmacht, discussed, on Saturday, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation in Libya, Farhat Ben Gudara, the development of a reliable and long-term company in the field of renewable energy sources.

On his Twitter account, the UNM described his meeting with Ben Keddara as "very constructive".

He stated that during the meeting, he touched on the importance of strong traditional relations between the Libyan Oil Corporation and German companies.

In early November, Bin Qadara affirmed the Libyan National Oil Corporation's commitment to work to reduce harmful emissions in order to preserve the environment and build a more sustainable future.

He spoke during the activities of the "ADIPEC 2022" conference held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, about the enormous potential that Libya possesses to launch in the field of renewable energy.

Qatar agreed to supply Germany with two million tons of liquefied natural gas annually for at least 15 years.

The Qatari Minister of Energy, Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, stated that the two agreements between Berlin and Doha "contribute to supporting our efforts to enhance energy security in Europe in general, and in the Federal Republic of Germany in particular."

The largest economic power in Europe (Germany) is striving to secure an alternative to Russian energy, although Russia has proven to be a reliable supplier for Germany over the past years.

The Western sanctions imposed on Moscow affected the supply of energy resources from Russia to the European Union.
