China welcomes the visit of the US Secretary of State and calls for dialogue instead of confrontation

China welcomed the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to Beijing, and indicated that it is in contact with the US side regarding special arrangements for the visit, calling on Washington for dialogue instead of confrontation.
This came in statements by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, during a press conference, to respond to reports that Blinken will visit China on February 5, and will meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang.

Wang said China has always viewed and developed its relations with the United States in accordance with the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.

He added that his country "hopes the United States will adopt a correct perception of China, stick to dialogue rather than confrontation, and seek win-win results instead of playing a zero-sum game."

"It is hoped that the United States can work with China to fully realize the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, and restore China-US relations to the track of sound and steady development," the spokesperson concluded.
