The meeting of finance ministers in the eurozone discusses macroeconomic developments, the corporate sector, the banking union and digital currencies

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The finance ministers of the eurozone, the "single European currency," will meet in Brussels tomorrow afternoon, Monday, provided that the meeting will be expanded on Tuesday, with the accession of ministers from the rest of the member states of the European Union.
According to what was announced by the European Ministerial Council in Brussels, the agenda of the eurozone ministers' meetings includes several files, including macroeconomic developments, the banking union, the corporate sector, digital currencies and other files.
Macroeconomic developments in the euro area
The European Commission is expected to present its economic forecasts for the spring. On this basis, the Eurogroup will exchange views on economic prospects and challenges for policy coordination in the future.
Corporate Sector: Structural Challenges Ahead in the Context of Rising Geopolitical Tensions
On the basis of the Commission's memorandum, the ministers are expected to take part in a discussion on the challenges facing the corporate sector in the Eurozone in the context of heightened geopolitical tensions.

Debriefing from international meetings
President of the Eurogroup Paschal Donohue, Institutions and Chairman of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), First Vice-President and Minister of Economy and Digitalization of Spain Nadia Calvinho will present information on recent international meetings, including the recent meetings of the Group of Seven. Finance ministers and central bank governors.

Ministers of the Member States of the Banking Union will hear the biannual report of the Chairs of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and the Single Resolution Council, Andrea Enria and Dominique Laborix. After the chairmen attended the previous Eurogroup meeting in April, this will provide more insights into the state of the banking sector in light of recent financial events. As usual, the participants will also hear reports on supervision and decision-making activities in the competence of the institutions.
Central bank digital currencies
The Eurogroup will coordinate an overall exchange of views on the international aspects of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and on the progress of the digital euro project. The discussion will be based on an issues note, presentations by institutions, and an update by Sweden's Finance Minister, Elisabeth Svantesson, on the state of play in the e-krona project.
The discussion is part of the Eurogroup's regular exchange on the digital euro project and an assessment of the progress of the International Central Bank's digital currency projects.
Capital Markets Association
The Chair of the Eurogroup will present his views on how to advance the capital markets union as a follow-up to the European Summit in March 2023 and in line with the discussions at the Eurogroup meeting in a comprehensive format on 28 April 2023.
Ministers are expected to discuss the way forward and provide their views on a guiding blueprint for future work on this topic in the Eurogroup, without prejudice to the ongoing legislative discussions in the, Council.
