The meeting discussed all aspects of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the European Union, highlighting the promotion of cooperation in the field of energy with its traditional, renewable and green sources. The meeting witnessed an emphasis on the great importance of strengthening the investment component in the economic and trade relations between the two sides, as Abdel-Aty reviewed the recent decisions taken by the Egyptian government recently to further encourage the investment climate and attract more foreign direct investments, in implementation of what was discussed within the framework of the convening of the Supreme Investment Council. Chaired by the President of the Republic. Dr. Abdel-Aty stressed the need to urge the European Commission and the Foreign Service to European companies to enhance their work and presence in Egypt and take advantage of the current investment opportunities available in a number of sectors, especially the energy, agriculture, industry and infrastructure sectors.
The meeting also dealt with stressing the need for the European Union to strengthen the financial and technical support provided to Egypt in facing various economic challenges. The European Union provides all kinds of necessary support to face the repercussions.
The important regional role of Egypt to enhance security and stability in the region was emphasized, and the European official highlighted the European Union's reliance on Egyptian efforts as a basic pillar for maintaining security and stability in the region, as well as Egyptian efforts at the level of regional and international issues, including the Palestinian cause, Syria, and Libya. , and Sudan. The Egyptian ambassador also reviewed the Egyptian efforts towards settling the Sudanese crisis, and highlighted the challenges resulting from the crisis, including hosting thousands of Sudanese brothers, as well as Egypt hosting about 9 million refugees and immigrants, which requires immediate support from the European Union to Egypt. The European side affirmed the provision of all possible support to support the Egyptian efforts, appreciating the Egyptian government's policies in dealing with this crisis, including hosting millions of immigrants and refugees inside Egyptian territory.
