Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The meetings of the Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries of the European Union countries will be held on Tuesday in Brussels. During the discussions, the current rotating Spanish presidency will present its work program and define its main priorities for agriculture and fisheries in the next semester. The meeting agenda includes several files, including:
Agriculture and market situation
The Ministers will discuss the market situation in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, to assess the various developments affecting agri-food products and the agri-food sector in the EU in general.
Secondly, the file of food security and affordability
The sustainable use of pesticides will be discussed and the Ministers will exchange, on the basis of information provided by the Commission, views on the complementary study to assess the impact of the proposal.
III Profile of Farm to Fork and New Genome Technologies (NGTs)
The Ministers will exchange views on the Commission's legislative proposal to regulate plants obtained through certain new genomic techniques and food and feed products.

Difficulties for Romanian farmers
Romania will provide information to the Council regarding the impact of the war in Ukraine, adverse weather conditions and high input prices on Romanian farmers.
Ukrainian imports and the continuing difficulties in farm markets
Poland, on behalf of Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, will inform the Ministers of the continuing effects of Ukrainian imports on their agricultural markets as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
- Fifth European African Ministerial Conference on Agriculture
Ministers will be briefed on the main outcomes of the Ministerial Conference held on 30 June in Rome whose main theme was “Resilient Food Systems and Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains”.
Plant and forest propagating materials
Ministers will receive information from the Commission on the new proposal to regulate the production and marketing of plant reproductive materials and forests.
