British police announced the arrest of 133 people on charges of “hate crimes” since October 7, that is, since the date of the Hamas attack on Israel and the launch of the Israeli operation in Gaza.
The police said in a post on the “X” website (formerly Twitter), that they had made “133 arrests due to incidents of hate crimes or violations of a racist nature.”
According to media reports from London this morning, British police arrested two people during a sit-in at Kings Cross station in London after a pro-Palestinian demonstration was banned, according to the German News Agency.
Transport Minister Mark Harper said that he had issued an order to allow the police to stop the demonstration yesterday evening (Friday) under Section 14A of the Public Order Act 1986.
A video clip on the social networking site “X” showed a man wrapped in the Palestinian flag and shouting “Free Palestine” while three policemen led him away from the station, according to the British news agency “PA Media”.
For its part, German police said that they arrested nine people during a pro-Palestinian march and demonstration in the city of Frankfurt yesterday.
Yesterday evening, the police added that they were conducting investigations with the detainees on suspicion of involvement in crimes including incitement to hatred and the use of unconstitutional symbols.
About 850 people participated in the demonstration in downtown Frankfurt, which was organized under the slogan “Ceasefire in Gaza.”
