The festival is for everyone
Every year the festival organizes screenings aimed at audiences less accustomed to visiting cinema to introduce them to accessible and meaningful auteur cinema. The festival administration also said on its official website that
Cinemamed is a film festival, but above all it is a celebration, a break in the winter to celebrate the Mediterranean, a region inseparable from its forms of musical expression, each richer than the other, including origins that intertwine to make us dance almost every evening.
Med Market
The Mediterranean Market is also our forum, a friendly meeting place where audiences, filmmakers, team members or juries come together.
Between two shows, we enjoy delicious cuisine from the four corners of the Mediterranean, known for the richness of its gastronomy.
Every day the Mediterranean Market Festival is organized at the Cinema Palace by the Brussels associations. There are workshops and Cinemamed celebrates Mediterranean culture in its entirety by offering numerous workshops, in addition to shows and concerts, allowing you to discover other aspects. Of which. Cooking, making, dancing...
Depending on the programs and their themes, Cinemamed highlights artists or collaborates with groups whose works reflect the sounds of the Mediterranean.
Opening
Friday, December 1, will be the opening ceremony and screening of the film Io Capitano, directed by Matteo Garrone. Io Capitano narrates the amazing journey of two young Senegalese, Seydou and Moussa, who left Dakar to reach Europe. A contemporary odyssey through the dangers of the desert, the perils of the Mediterranean, and the mysteries of the human soul.
A great novel that calls our humanity into order. And for a film that will represent Italy at the Academy Awards.
