Today, members of Egyptian communities abroad continue to vote in the presidential elections for the third and final day. An increased turnout was noted on Saturday and Sunday compared to Friday for Egyptians in European countries, due to members of the community getting the weekend off. The Egyptian ambassador to Brussels spoke about the remarkable participation of Egyptians in Belgium and Luxembourg of various ages and groups, especially youth and women, during the second day of the presidential elections. Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Duchy of Luxembourg and its representative to the European Union and NATO, stated that it is the second day for Egyptians to vote abroad. Yesterday witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of Egyptians residing and present in the territories of Belgium and Luxembourg participating in the 2024 presidential elections. Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty confirmed that the embassy in Brussels witnessed a large influx of members of the community from different age groups, especially young men, women and the elderly, during the second day of the voting process, which began at exactly nine in the morning and continued until nine in the evening, which reflects the awareness among the people of Egypt in Belgium. Luxembourg stresses the importance of exercising their constitutional right and participating in shaping the future of their country. He pointed out that the voting process takes place without any problems or obstacles, pointing to the facilities provided by the embassy to complete the voting process smoothly and easily. Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty pointed out that the participation of the people of Egypt in Belgium and Luxembourg in the presidential elections takes place in a civilized and honorable manner, and reflects the extent of their attachment to their homeland and their keenness to participate in shaping its future. The Egyptian ambassador expected the number of voters to increase today, Sunday, until the end of the voting process before the electoral box closes the voting process at exactly nine in the evening, in preparation for the start of the process of numerically counting those who cast their votes, starting the sorting process, determining the number of valid and invalid votes, the number of votes each candidate obtained, and sending all the lists. The results are sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from there to the general committee supervising the election committees abroad formed by the decision of the National Elections Authority.
