Russia extends the entry ban on trucks coming from the European Union

Moscow: Agencies
On Monday, the Russian government extended the ban on the entry of trucks from the European Union, Britain, Norway and Ukraine, as part of retaliatory sanctions on the West.

According to a statement by the Russian Cabinet on Telegram: “The ban will continue until the circumstances that were the basis for its imposition are addressed.”

The statement explained that there will be exceptions as before, including the transportation of mail, diplomatic bags and humanitarian aid.

The statement stated: “There will be no restrictions on the passage of technical support trucks to transport equipment and sports cars to the venues of sporting events.”

The ban was imposed in 2022 in response to the European Union's decision not to allow trucks with Russian and Belarusian license plates to pass through its territory.
