Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
On Monday, the Belgian media in Brussels paid attention to what was issued by the international organization “Reporters Without Borders” due to the repeated killing of journalists in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, Sunday, the international organization Reporters Without Borders expressed its shock at the news of the killing of other journalists in the Gaza Strip. The non-governmental organization speaks about “ massacre" and calls for "an end to this intolerable massacre."
Two Palestinian journalists were killed in an Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip on Sunday. These are Mustafa Thuraya, a freelance video reporter who has been working with Agence France-Presse for several years, and Hamza Al-Dahdouh, a journalist with Al-Jazeera. According to Reporters Without Borders figures, 79 journalists have been killed in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli army attacks since the outbreak of the war on October 7.
Christophe Deloire, Secretary-General of Reporters Without Borders, said on the social media site X that Israel must be held responsible for “this elimination of journalism in Gaza.”
Deloire had already announced in early November that she would go to the International Criminal Court. The organization said that it will continue its efforts to ensure that “crimes committed against journalists” are given the highest priority before the Criminal Court.
