
European street anger continues in protest against the killing of Palestinians...and international silence

The European peoples continued to express their anger over the continued suffering of the Palestinians as a result of the Israeli bombing, the continued international silence, and the inability of international justice to force the occupation forces to stop the bombing, killing, and displacement to which the residents of the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian cities are subjected. Cities in Belgium and other countries witnessed protests and marches today, Sunday, condemning them. The continued suffering of the Palestinians, after tens of thousands of people in Spain, Italy and other countries took to the streets. On Saturday, the Spanish capital, Madrid, witnessed about 20,000 demonstrators. The demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and chanted anti-Israel slogans.
Behind a banner reading “Stop genocide in Palestine,” the crowd waved Palestinian flags. The demonstrators also carried South African flags, in reference to the International Court of Justice ruling, which called on Israel on Friday to “take all measures within its power” to prevent genocide in Gaza.
The demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Where are the sanctions on Israel?" "Israel kills, European shepherds," and many demonstrators carried banners reading "Boycott Israel" or "Israel is exterminating."
Spain is one of the most critical voices within the European Union regarding Israel.
Thousands of people also took to the streets in various parts of Italy to participate in demonstrations in support of the Palestinians. They ignored the police ban on these demonstrations on the day the world commemorated the Holocaust.
Hundreds of participants participated in demonstrations in Rome and other cities on Saturday. Police said the demonstrations were almost all peaceful. In Milan, where about 1,200 people participated, skirmishes took place with the police. Some demonstrators chanted slogans and spread slogans accusing Israel of committing genocide. Municipal authorities in Rome banned demonstrations on Friday after a call from the right-wing government.
In the Swedish capital, Stockholm, about 15,000 people participated in a demonstration of solidarity with Palestine in front of the headquarters of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, demanding an end to the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza. In the German capital, Berlin, demonstrators demanded an immediate end to the genocide committed by the occupation forces in Gaza, and denounced Germany's unconditional official support for the Israeli government.
The German Foreign Minister had previously called for a humanitarian truce in Gaza and for Israel to respect the recent decisions of the International Court of Justice.
Yesterday, the Greek capital, Athens, witnessed a march of solidarity with Palestine, as thousands gathered in Freedom Park in Athens, before heading on foot to the headquarters of the Israeli embassy, in front of which they organized a protest and chanted slogans calling for justice and freedom for Palestine. They also called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as this path. The only solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
