Celebrations of the Egyptian Embassy in Brussels on the anniversary of the October War victories

The Defense Office at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, headed by Brigadier General Tarek Salah El-Din, organized a celebration on Tuesday, November 5, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the glorious October War victories, in the presence of Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, Egypt's Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union and NATO, and a group of military leaders from the European Union Commission, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Belgian Ministry of Defense, and the heads of the defense offices accredited in the Belgian capital, Brussels. According to a statement issued on the embassy's website on social media, the statement added, "The Egyptian Ambassador in Brussels and the Defense Attaché delivered speeches at the beginning of the ceremony, reviewing the most important lessons learned in the glorious victories of October 6, and what the Egyptian Armed Forces demonstrated in terms of steadfastness, courage, and patriotism, and the Egyptian people's pride in their armed forces throughout the ages, in addition to Egypt's pioneering role in achieving peace based on truth and justice in the region. Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid was also keen in his speech to highlight the sanctity of the glorious October 6 War, considering that it was a war to defend the right and reclaim the land, and not a war of aggression and violation of human rights and humanity as we see in the Middle East today, calling for drawing lessons from the professionalism and discipline of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which fought an honorable war that established peace and adhered to it as a strategic option over the decades. The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Robert Berger, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, and Major General Stephane Dutroun, Director of Belgian Military Intelligence, in addition to representatives of members of the Egyptian community and the fathers of the Coptic Church. Orthodoxy in Belgium, who were keen to participate in this important national celebration.
