"Journey" exhibition by artist Abu Sirya at Sakia El Sawy.. Paintings covering the passage through different art schools and the geographical journey between being in the homeland and during exile

Cairo: Europe and the Arabs
The exhibition "Journey" by the Belgian artist of Egyptian origin, Lotfi Abu Siriyah, was held in the Sakia El Sawy Hall in Cairo under the title "From Nubia to Europe" and included works dating back to the sixties of the twentieth century and others modern, all of which were admired by the audience throughout the exhibition period from the seventeenth to the twentieth of this month. The exhibition was held to commemorate one of the symbols of Egyptian culture, the journalist and novelist Abdel Moneim El Sawy.
In statements to the Europe and the Arabs news website, the artist Abu Siriyah said, "The exhibition was titled "Journey" and it is my artistic journey from the sixties until now with paintings covering all stages of my development, starting from the periods of hobby, then classical academic study and my passage through the various expressive and symbolic artistic schools, then romantic surrealism. The geographical journey between my presence in the homeland and during my exile was supported by my close connection to Egypt and my head of origin with a slight influence of the European climate and nature that had an impact on my artistic works. This was the result of coexistence.

Abu Siriyah added, "This cultural integration has the merit of producing works with a distinctive oriental character with European touches in a rare and cheerful scene (as one of the Belgian critics wrote) - The exhibition had been dated to coincide with the date of birth of the personality of Mr. Abdel Moneim El Sawy, the former Minister of Culture, who was like the spiritual father of Lotfy Abu Serya, who was responsible for the project to save the Nubian monuments at that time. The artist chose the location of this exhibition, Sakia El Sawy Hall in Zamalek, where the exhibition was crowned by welcoming guests of intellectuals, artists and crowds in a graceful celebration under the slogan of the Year of Wisdom, where this cultural festival was concluded with a lecture and a historical and artistic symposium about Nubia and about saving the temples of the pharaohs from drowning due to the High Dam, with the display of pictures on a screen. He concluded by saying, "This festival was supported by Engineer Mohamed Abdel Moneim El Sawy, thank you to Sakia El Sawy and with a sophisticated attendance."
