The resumption of the war on Gaza is linked to internal and external factors, including Israel’s decision to be patient on the diplomatic track and ensure the reorganization of the military establishment after the Chief of Staff leaves his post

Gaza - New York: Europe and the Arabs
Amidst the political and military tension over the future of the truce in Gaza, the newspaper "Haaretz" quoted an Israeli security source commenting on the visit of Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, this week, saying that it could "save the negotiations." However, the military option is still seriously on the table, but it depends on several factors, according to the official. A report published by the European news network in Brussels, "Euronews," stated that after the recent Israeli escalation, there is fear that the Hebrew state will resume the war on Gaza after it decided to cut off aid. A source told "Haaretz" that the security establishment is preparing to resume military operations, a move that would satisfy right-wing circles that reject peace with Hamas, according to the newspaper.
Israel has faced sharp criticism after its decision to stop all aid to Gaza, sending trucks back from Egypt. Date of resuming the war
Despite the threat of a military option, the date of Tel Aviv's "resumption" of the war on Gaza is still under discussion, as it is linked to several internal and external factors, including Israel's decision to be patient with the diplomatic track in the hope of breakthroughs and ensuring the reorganization of the Israeli military establishment after Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi leaves his post, as scheduled on March 6.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the mediators demanded a few days before resuming the war, as they believe they are able to push Hamas to a settlement, which Tel Aviv agreed to, according to the Hebrew media.
The Israeli radio also quoted Energy Minister Eli Cohen as saying that "the possibility of returning to war is on the table, but that is not our goal."
Leaving room for Zamir to take over
Yedioth Ahronoth added that the fighting is "not expected" to resume at least during the next week, because Tel Aviv, according to the newspaper, wants to leave room for the next Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, to carry out his duties and prove himself, especially since Zamir has a busy schedule. Channel 12 reported that he will dismiss a number of army leaders as soon as he assumes his position this week, including the leaders of the Air Force, the Home Front, Operations, and Intelligence.
Netanyahu between appeasing the right and the families of the hostages
In this context, Israel continues to pressure Hamas to accept Witkov's proposal for a temporary truce during the month of Ramadan, using the relief and humanitarian issue as a card in its favor, as the newspaper "Israel Hayom" quoted Israeli sources as saying that if Hamas does not release more "hostages," Israel will cut off water and electricity to the Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Hamas would not be able to benefit from humanitarian aid or a ceasefire as was the case in the first phase of the agreement unless it released the Israeli hostages, he said. While the Israeli threats satisfied right-wing circles, the performance of the Tel Aviv government raised concerns among the families of the prisoners who demonstrated against the decision. Army Radio quoted the father of a prisoner in Gaza as saying that it was “unfortunate that the families of the hostages pinned their hopes on the Americans and foreign governments rather than on their own government,” noting that the force exercised by his country could cost them their lives, as he said had happened before. Haaretz: "Israel plays the victim and Netanyahu strengthens Smotrich's position"
For its part, Haaretz said that the Israeli government violated the agreement with Hamas, which was signed in Doha on January 17, and now accuses the movement and plays the victim, noting that "the escalation and provocations through disputes over the approach followed by Israel", including when the Golda Meir government violated the truce with Egypt in Sinai, which resulted in the killing of 80 soldiers and the injury of 120 others.
The newspaper added that with this step, Netanyahu is only interested in remaining in power, and seeks to gain the approval of his political base, especially the right, and also wants to strengthen the position of his Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, which could lead to the agreement's destruction
This came after UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the immediate resumption of the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza and the release of all hostages. With love for what came in the daily news bulletin of the United Nations
In response to questions from journalists received, the Office of the Spokesperson for the United Nations said that the Secretary-General urges all parties to make every effort to prevent a return to hostilities in Gaza.
It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General will attend the extraordinary summit of the League of Arab States to discuss the reconstruction of Gaza on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by his spokesman yesterday, Secretary-General Guterres urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and find a way to move forward to the next stage. The UN spokesman stressed in the statement the need for a permanent ceasefire and the release of all hostages, in order to prevent escalation and avoid devastating consequences for civilians.
The spokesman pointed out that thousands of trucks loaded with life-saving aid have entered Gaza, so that relief can reach almost everyone in the Strip. The UN spokesman stressed the imperative of making every effort to prevent a return to hostilities, which would be disastrous.
