
Talks between Egypt and Belgium to discuss cooperation opportunities in the fields of social and economic development and reconstruction

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, Egypt's Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union, and NATO, met with Mr. Jan Van Wetter, CEO of the Belgian Development Agency. According to the Egyptian Embassy in Brussels, the two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between Belgium and Egypt in the fields of social and economic development, early recovery, reconstruction, peace and security, sectoral capacity building, infrastructure, and renewable energy in Africa and the Middle East. Proposals for bilateral cooperation between the Agency and relevant Egyptian authorities were also discussed.
Late last month, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, held a fruitful meeting with Pascal Delcomnet, Director General of the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (WEIA), the trade and investment agency in the Belgian region of Wallonia. The meeting discussed strengthening economic cooperation and trade exchange, and attracting investments in key sectors. Opportunities for cooperation in the industrial, technology, and sustainable development sectors were also discussed.
