According to what was published by the European news network in Brussels, "Euronews", on Monday, adding, "If the decision is implemented, the number of countries subject to the ban or full or partial restrictions will more than double, to include strategic partner countries in Africa and the Caribbean.
The cable, signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and sent to US missions abroad over the weekend, gave the countries on the list until 8:00 AM Eastern Time last Wednesday to submit initial plans to reform their status in line with the administration's security and identity verification requirements.
Africa and the Caribbean at the forefront
The list includes 25 countries from the African continent, including Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Djibouti, Senegal, and South Sudan. In the Caribbean, the names include Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia. The rest of the list includes other countries such as Bhutan, Syria, Tonga, and Vanuatu.
The US administration has not officially announced this move, but diplomatic messages indicate that these countries It has only 60 days to demonstrate its ability to comply with the new standards, or face a ban similar to the one imposed days ago on 12 countries under a previous executive order by President Trump.
