Geneva – Washington: Europe and the Arabs
As Geneva hosts a new round of nuclear negotiations between Iran, the United States, and other international parties, media reports indicate a more serious American warning to Israel to carry out a new strike against Tehran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Geneva at the head of a diplomatic and technical delegation to participate in the second round of nuclear negotiations with the United States.
The Iranian Foreign Minister was received upon arrival by Wolfgang Brühlhardt, the Swiss Foreign Minister's Special Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, according to the Iranian news agency Mehr.
Meetings Expected with International Officials
During his current visit to Geneva, Araqchi is scheduled to hold talks with his Swiss and Omani counterparts, as well as meet with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, and other international officials.
Araqchi is also expected to address the Conference on Disarmament at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva. According to the Egyptian newspaper Youm7, Cairo:
Negotiations Resume After Military Escalation
Tehran and Washington resumed negotiations this month after previous talks collapsed when Israel launched unprecedented airstrikes against Iran last June.
American media reports have revealed new details regarding military cooperation between Washington and Tel Aviv. CBS News reported that President Donald Trump informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his full support for an Israeli military strike targeting Iran's ballistic missile program should a mutually acceptable political agreement fail.
Trump Shows Unprecedented Flexibility to Support Israeli Military Action Against Iran
Trump has shown unprecedented flexibility in supporting an Israeli military operation, going beyond mere political support to include high-level logistical coordination such as aerial refueling and securing overflight routes in regional airspace to ensure the operation's success. The leak of this sensitive information comes at a very sensitive time, coinciding with the ongoing round of talks between Washington and Tehran, indicating the US administration's desire to use the "military option" as a final pressure tactic to force the Iranian side to make substantial concessions before it is too late.
