The Egyptian ambassador reviewed the latest developments in the substantive and organizational aspects of the COP27 climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh next November, highlighting the main goals that the Egyptian presidency aims to achieve, foremost of which is the transition from the pledges stage to the implementation stage, in connection with the issues of adaptation, losses and damages, emissions reduction, and financing.
    
    Dr. Abdel-Aty highlighted the importance that the Egyptian presidency attaches to the climate conference to the issue of biodiversity and its connection to the issue of climate change, including the organization of the "Biodiversity Day" within the conference's activities, which will include high-level discussions on the effects of climate change on biodiversity.

     The attendees affirmed their aspiration for the success of the Sharm el-Sheikh conference in finding feasible solutions to face the challenges of climate change, especially in relation to taking into account developing countries, and that the success of the Sharm el-Sheikh climate conference will be positively reflected in creating the necessary momentum for the success of the biodiversity conference in Montreal.

     On the other hand, he met Dr. Abdel-Aty with the officials of the Hydrogen Council in Brussels, where he stressed that Egypt attaches importance to the energy sector and reviewed the efforts made to make Egypt a center for the production, transfer and circulation of energy with its various traditional, new and clean sources, and stressed in this regard the importance of the green transformation, shedding light on the projects that Egypt seeks To implement it in order to produce and export green hydrogen to Europe, highlighting the essential role of the Suez Canal Economic Zone by signing a number of memoranda of understanding with major international companies interested in producing green hydrogen.

    Council officials expressed their aspiration to enhance cooperation with Egypt in the field of green hydrogen, as well as their aspiration to participate in the upcoming climate conference in Sharm El Sheikh, which will represent an important opportunity to highlight the Egyptian capabilities in this vital field in terms of human capabilities, natural resources, infrastructure, and related policies. support this sector.
