The European Commission calls for countries to coordinate to confront the spread of Corona in China...and global infections have reached 661 million

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs - and agencies
Three years after the start of the Corona virus pandemic in China, the expansion of cases in the Asian country has become the reason for the division of Europe again due to the tendency of some countries to take measures to prevent the outbreak of Corona, and to distance themselves from Brussels, which has not taken any unified measures so far.

The Spanish newspaper "El Mundo" indicated that Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom have taken new measures to prevent the spread of Corona after the spread of the virus in China once again sparked great controversy, and therefore the European Commission requested important coordination of national measures between the 27 countries in the European Union. To deal with the emergency of corona virus infection.

Despite this, Brussels has so far not provided any information or steps for possible coordination of actions or assessment of the seriousness of the situation, although the Commission will continue to facilitate discussions between member states and will be ready to call for further meetings if necessary.

And Spain, France, Italy and the United Kingdom took individual measures after the spread of the Corona virus in China, and the Spanish Minister of Health, Carolina Darías, announced today, Friday, the imposition of new restrictions in order to prevent the outbreak of the new Corona virus, on travelers coming from China, after the increase in cases there. .

Darias said it would require that travelers arriving from China have fully received the coronavirus vaccine or show a negative test result.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo indicated that Spain is thus the second European country to announce the imposition of restrictions on travelers coming from China, as Italy demanded earlier this week that swabs be taken to detect the virus, as well as a sequence of the virus for those coming from China. Health restrictions on arrivals in China prompted many in China to plan to travel abroad.

In response, the United States and other countries announced that they would require negative COVID-@DIGITS tests for all arrivals from mainland China. Washington's move follows Italy, Japan, India and Malaysia announcing special measures to prevent the entry of possible new Covid variants from China.

Italy was the first country in the European Union to impose corona checks on all travelers coming from China, in order to avoid the entry of new variants of the virus into the country, after it was revealed that half of the Chinese coming to Italy were positive for corona.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said at a press conference that Italy expects and hopes that the European Union will impose mandatory coronavirus tests on all passengers traveling from China as Rome did.
Today, Sunday, the American “Johns Hopkins” University stated that the number of confirmed infections with the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) around the world rose to 660 million and 543 thousand and 327 cases.

And the university stated - in the latest statistics it published on its website - that the total deaths due to infection with the virus around the world rose to 6 million, 690 thousand and 581 deaths.

According to the latest data, the United States topped the list of countries in terms of the number of deaths due to infection with the virus, with more than one million and 92 thousand cases, followed by Brazil in second place with 693 thousand and 853 deaths, then India comes in third place with a total of 530 thousand and 705 deaths.
