Thieves broke into the house of a Belgian minister of Turkish origin and succeeded in stealing sums of money and leaving computers, tablets and other electrical devices.
According to local media, the house of the Minister of Environment, Energy and Justice in the Flemish government, Dhuhal Demir, was attacked for theft and looting, and they left the house after they took out everything on the ground.
The robbery was discovered last Saturday. "The whole house has been turned upside down," said Andy Peters, a spokesman for Secretary Demer. “The thieves stole a small amount of cash, but tablets and laptops, for example, were not taken.
"Anyway, it was of course an unpleasant experience for the minister. Everyone would be upset if burglars broke into your home, in your private life. But overall, she's fine. She's been very well looked after by the city police, who are also investigating," the spokesperson added. At this point, it didn't seem like Demir was intentionally targeted or threatened. And, for example, the thieves did not leave letters for her
Last September, it was decided to tighten security measures around the residence of the Belgian Minister of Justice, Vincent Van Quickenborn, after the Federal Prosecutor's Office announced that the minister had received a threat at his address. Three suspects have already been arrested, and the Belgian minister commented, "We will never give in to violence."
The Public Prosecutor's Office had immediately launched an investigation and the necessary measures were taken and the Minister was placed under strict security measures. The threat came from the international drug environment. According to what was published in local newspapers in Brussels
