Within the framework of the cultural activities organized by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, Mrs. wife of the Egyptian Ambassador Naglaa Abdel-Aty organized a cultural event on "Jewelry in the Pharaonic Civilization", in the Egyptian Residence House, in the presence of a large number of wives of senior Belgian and European officials and foreign journalists, with the participation of a number One of the leading Belgian archaeologists specialized in the Pharaonic civilization.
The ambassador's wife started the event by addressing the features of the ancient Egyptian civilization, and the interest of both Egypt and Belgium in Egyptology, especially with the visit of Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Princess Elizabeth, Crown Princess, to Egypt during the period from 14 to 16 March to celebrate the centenary of the visit of Queen Elizabeth - the king's grandmother Philip, King of Belgium - to Egypt in 1923. She noted that Her Majesty the Queen and the Crown Princess visited the Palace of Baron Empain, as well as the city of Luxor and the technical sites in which the Belgian missions operate in Upper Egypt, in the Cap and Deir al-Barsha regions. And she stressed the great importance of further revitalizing Belgian cultural tourism to Egypt, which is witnessing a significant and noticeable increase since last year.
The ambassador's wife also commended the Expedition Egypt exhibition, which is organized by the Museum of Art and History in Brussels, and its activities begin on March 31 and will last for 6 months, inviting the attendees to visit the exhibition, which contains a large collection of artifacts dating back to Pharaonic history that have not been shown before.
On the other hand, Dr. Nicolas Gauthier, an Egyptologist and professor at the University of Louvain, gave a lecture on "Jewelry in the Pharaonic Civilization", in which he highlighted the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians in making jewelry and jewelry from precious metals, and their interest in jewelry in different social classes, and he also reviewed the most important pieces Characteristics that were discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun.
