Within the framework of the tourism and cultural promotion of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, in partnership with Mr. Bruno Verbergt, Director of the Belgian Museum of Art and History, inaugurated an exhibition on Egypt at the Museum in Brussels during the period from March 31 to October 1, 2023 under the auspices of the Queen of Belgium. And according to what the Egyptian embassy in Brussels announced, nearly 600 senior officials of the European Union and Belgium participated in the official opening ceremony, as well as a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors, Egyptologists and representatives of major Belgian companies. The reception highlighted the distinction of bilateral relations between Egypt and Belgium, and the passion of the Belgian people and the royal family for Egypt and its ancient history.
Abdel Aty also noted, during his speech, the visit that Queen Mathilde and Crown Princess Elizabeth made to Egypt during the period from 14 to 16 March as part of the historical interest in ancient Egypt, and to celebrate the centenary of the visit of Queen Elizabeth, the great-grandmother of King Philip, to Egypt in March 1923. Abdel Ati was keen to invite the audience to visit Egypt to learn about its various monuments that date back to the Pharaonic era and other subsequent historical periods within the framework of the great Egyptian civilization, and to learn about the various tourist destinations in Egypt, including cultural, beach, environmental and religious tourism, as well as the architectural and civilizational renaissance. And the comprehensive modernization process that has been achieved in Egypt during the last ten years.

The exhibition witnessed a wide turnout on the part of the Belgian visitors who had the opportunity to visit it on the sidelines of the reception before the official opening to the public, and popular Egyptian food and drinks were displayed during the opening ceremony. The high-ranking officials who attended, including officials of the Commission, members of the European Parliament and the Belgian government, praised the greatness of the Egyptian civilization and its uniqueness and distinction among the ancient civilizations.
