The US Federal Trade Commission announced that it would obligate Microsoft to pay $ 20 million to settle accusations of violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act by illegally collecting personal information without the consent of their parents. According to the Middle East News Agency
The committee said - in a statement reported by the American (Al-Hurra) channel today, Tuesday, that the company collected personal information about children participating in the "Xbox" video game system without notifying their families or obtaining their consent, while retaining this information.
It added that it would expand the scope of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act to include all game publishers with which Microsoft shares children's data.
