The stumbling blocks of US President Joe Biden and the protocol errors he made have aroused the attention of observers of global events and news on more than one occasion. Some have asked about choosing leaders for the United States who are over seventy years of age and even close to eighty. In this regard, a new poll conducted by the Pew Research Center in the United States revealed According to Yahoo!, nearly half of Americans would prefer a president younger than 60 years old.
49% of those surveyed said the best age for a president is in their fifties, followed by 24% who said they wanted someone in their sixties, and 17% who said they wanted someone in their forties, while only 3% of respondents said the best age for a president is in Seventies or older.
The poll shows that there is a disconnect between the desires of many Americans for a younger president and the ages of the presidential candidates, as President Biden is 80 years old and Trump is 77 years old. According to Al-Youm Al-Sabea news site in Cairo, he added, “Biden’s age has alarmed voters of all parties in recent opinion polls. The Pew poll also found that young people believe that presidents will be considered “at the peak of their lives” when they are younger, and similarly older Americans believe that the age of Adulthood is better.
More than a third of respondents between the ages of 18 and 29 said the best age for a president is in their 40s, while only 3% of respondents over 70 agreed with this. In contrast, 42% of the oldest respondents said The poll said the sixties are the best age for a president, while less than a quarter of the youngest respondents answered the same way.
Researchers said the results are similar between the two parties if you adjust for the average age of party members. And because the Democratic Party tends to have younger members, party participants said younger people are more favorable to a president. They added that Democrats' responses are also similar to answers to the same survey question in 2019.
