Belgium celebrates the National Day and the tenth anniversary of King Philippe's accession to the throne

Belgium celebrates its national holiday on Friday, July 21, to commemorate the oath taken by the first king of the Belgians, Leopold of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, on July 18, 1831. The oath is significant because it marks the creation of an independent Belgium, under a constitutional and parliamentary monarchy. And then July 21, in 1890, became the official date for the Belgian National Day. This year also marks another occasion, which is the 10th anniversary of King Philip's rule. Several celebrations were launched in the Belgian capital, Brussels. Among them is the organization of hundreds of free activities in the heart of Brussels from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm. Among them are, for example, a giant table football, CrossFit, Mini Golf, Zumba..and according to the Belgium 24 website, the national day will be celebrated with the Te Deum hymn, in the presence of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Kings of Belgium and Belgian dignitaries, at 10 am in the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudola. With the clock reaching 4 pm, the traditional military and civil parade will take place in the Place des Palais, which will bring together the land, air, sea and finally medical groups. And from 9 pm it will be a 100% Belgian concert. Which includes “Paul Michel, Axel Red or even Loïc Notet: there will also be many Belgian artists. The day will end with a pyramidal musical show. There will also be music and fireworks at 11pm at the Cinquantenaire.
King Louis Philippe Leopold Marie (April 15, 1960 -), is the title holder of King of the Belgians, after he ascended the throne on July 21, 2013. He is the eldest son of King Albert II and Queen Paola. He married Countess Matilda of Côte d'Ivoire (now Queen Mathilde), with whom he has four children, and was crowned king on July 21, 2013, after the abdication of his father, Albert II, from the throne.
