Brussels: Europe and the Arabs

A full-time employee earns an average gross of 4,076 euros per month "before deducting taxes and other benefits, which can reach almost half". This is evident from new results issued by the Belgian statistical agency Statbel, based on the annual wage survey of more than 184,000 employees based on figures for 2022. The average gross wage is 3,728 euros per month before deducting taxes and other benefits. However, 50% of employees earn less than 3,728 euros, while the other half receive a higher wage. However, 10% of employees earn less than 2,443 euros per month, while a tenth of salaried workers receive at least 6,305 euros.

The older the employee, the higher the average wage. The age of 40 is the turning point. Employees under the age of 40 generally receive wages below the national average, while from this age onwards they often receive higher wages. For example, the salary slip for employees aged 60 and over is 31% higher than the national average.
