The NATO exercises that began on October 24, 2024 under the title
"Neptune Strike 2024" continue. According to what was issued by the headquarters of the alliance in Brussels, this heightened vigilance activity will be carried out throughout Europe, from the central Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea to the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, and will continue until October 31, 2024.
During this period, NATO will assume operational control over advanced naval warfare capabilities from several Allies. Including multiple aircraft carriers and expeditionary strike groups that will be deployed in various operational areas.
From October 24 to 31, NEST 24-2 will demonstrate the complex integration of joint advanced naval strike capabilities. NATO will assume operational control over multiple aircraft carriers and expeditionary strike groups to support the Alliance's deterrence and defense.
In total, around 20 surface ships and submarines, along with special operations forces and numerous aircraft, are participating, with nearly 15,000 support personnel. The nations participating in this NATO deployment include Albania, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. This is a powerful demonstration of the Allies’ ability to work together through NATO to deter and defend, according to a statement from NATO headquarters in Brussels.
