July 2022: 528 bankruptcies in Belgium In July 2022, the corporate courts registered 528 bankruptcies. This is a decrease of 51.2% compared to June 2022. Statbel, the Belgian statistical office, also publishes an extensive report with the most important evolutions in the monthly bankruptcy figures.

The number of bankruptcies registered in July 2022 is higher compared to the same month in 2021 (+23.4%) and in 2020 (+9.1%) but lower than the number of bankruptcies in July 2019 (-30.1%). For each region, the number of registered bankruptcies in July 2022 is lower compared to June 2022 and July 2019.

The largest relative decreases occurred in the Brussels-Capital Region with decreases of 69.3% compared to June 2022 and 66.2% compared to July 2019. The number of bankruptcies registered in July 2022 decreased in all sectors compared to June 2022. Only in industry and energy were more bankruptcies than in July 2019 (+57.1%).
