Four films are shortlisted for the prestigious “Orizzonti” competition: “Victim” by Michal Blaško, “Innocence” by Guy Davidi, “To the North” by Mihai Mincan, and “The Happiest Man in the World” by Teona Strugar Mitevska. Four other films have been selected for the independent section “Giornate degli Autori” organized alongside the festival, and another film will be presented in the “Out of Competition” section. These films were supported by the MEDIA component of the “Creative Europe” programme. The winners of this year's festival will be announced on Saturday September 10 during the closing ceremony. In addition, the Commission will organize three events under the theme “Europe in Focus”. On Saturday 3 September, during the festival, a panel will be held on “Virtual and Augmented Reality in Europe: A Thriving Content Ecosystem”, during which the policy paper on Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) in Europe will be published and presented. Resulting from the work of the Virtual and Augmented Reality industry coalition, this document presents the opportunities and challenges of VR/AR in Europe.
