The results of the latest European opinion poll conducted recently indicated that confidence in the European Union is rising and there is broad support for the response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as well as the energy policies of the European Union.

The results of the survey conducted this summer and published today by the European Commission indicated that 65% of Europeans are optimistic about the future of the European Union, three points more than the beginning of the year, before the Russian aggression on Ukraine. 47% have a positive image of the European Union (+3), while 36% have a neutral image and 16% have a negative image.

Confidence in the European Union also increased to 49% (+2). Support for the euro has reached an all-time high: 72% now support it (+3), and the figure is up to 80% in the Eurozone (+3).

According to the European Commission in Brussels, this poll also confirms the high level of support for the EU's position on Russia's invasion of Ukraine: 92% approve of humanitarian action, 90% support the EU's reception of people fleeing the war, 78% were with economic sanctions and 68 % supported the purchase and delivery of military equipment to Ukraine.

On the other hand, according to the results of the survey, a very high percentage believes that the European Union should invest heavily in renewable energy, and the percentage reached (87%), while the percentage of those who demanded that the European Union reduce its dependence on energy from Russia as soon as possible has reached (86). %). 85% believe that improving energy efficiency will reduce Europeans' dependence on Russia, 83% believe that EU member states should buy energy together to get better prices, and 78% say they have already taken steps to reduce their energy consumption, or plan to do so in soon.

On the other hand, the view of the European economic situation is deteriorating, 51% see it as bad (+6) and 40% as good (-5). For participants, inflation is now the most important issue for the EU (34%, +10), ahead of other important topics such as energy supply and the international situation (28% each).
