The Ethiopian security services have handed over a man accused of human trafficking to the Dutch justice after the issuance of a search warrant submitted by the Dutch authorities to their Ethiopian counterpart. The case is a 38-year-old man of Eritrean origin.
According to the Dutch Ministry of the Interior, the person concerned is responsible for the displacement of Africans to the Netherlands during the period between 2014 to 2020.
The Dutch authorities had previously submitted to the Libyan government a request for the extradition of the accused, who was torturing and raping migrant women in secret detention centers and camps.
The Eritrean suspect was arrested in Ethiopia and is also convicted there of human trafficking.
