Austrian Energy Minister Leonor Goesler has called for negotiations at the European Union level with gas-rich countries in order to overcome the crisis of high energy prices.
Goesler explained - in his statements today, Thursday, that the first logical step to confront the crisis is to talk with those countries that can support us on the supply level and on the price side, especially the United States and Norway.

The minister stated that in order to ensure gas supplies to the European Union countries, Austria and other countries were able to increase stocks above the 80% level to provide energy security, especially in the coming winter, explaining that the European Union energy ministers met informally yesterday, Wednesday, in Prague to continue work on Measures to address high energy prices, they also discussed how the price of gas used to produce electricity is determined and how the European Union can buy gas.
