Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
Josep Borrell, the European Union's foreign policy and security coordinator, sent a message to the youth of the Arab world, in which he said that we need to be complicit and proactive, modest because we are no longer in a central position to the world. We are an economic and technological power in the world, but our prosperity and well-being must be in the framework of a common endeavor, and we have to provide opportunities for young people, and we need to open up more, and we have to cooperate more with the rest of the world. We cannot be an island without taking into account the youth around us.
In his video statements, which were published on Wednesday by Miguel Bono, European Union spokesman in North Africa and the Middle East, Borrell added, "Europe is an old continent and the Arab world is thriving with its youth, so we need to search for integration."
