Oil companies accumulate billions despite the crisis
Brussels: Europe and the Arabs

Oil and gas giants Shell and Total Energy continue to make good profits from higher oil and gas prices. This is evident from their quarterly results. According to the Belgian news agency, Thursday, it added:
Shell earned $6.7 billion in the three months from July to September. Still impressive, but not at the $18 billion mark in the second quarter. Shell indicated that margins in refining activities no longer reached the level of the second quarter.

The group announced that it will raise the dividend and buy back 4 billion euros of shares.

Another oil giant also announced a multi-billion dollar profit. French company TotalEnergies set records on Thursday. Despite writing off $3.1 billion in new Russian operations, TotalEnergies generated $6.6 billion. This is more than expected due to the higher prices of natural gas and LNG.
