
The second US-African summit kicks off today in Washington

Today, Tuesday, the "United States of Africa 2022" summit, hosted by US President Joe Biden, will start in Washington for three days, with the participation of 49 African leaders.
The activities of the first day include the Forum of Young African Leaders in Africa and the Diaspora, where about two million African immigrants live in the United States and maintain family, social and economic ties with the African continent. In order to come up with innovative solutions to current challenges, the forum includes several sessions on higher education, workforce development, innovative industries, and environmental justice.
Today, Tuesday, the civil society forum will be held under the title "Comprehensive Partnership to Promote the 2063 Agenda". and enhance accounting.
On the first day of the summit, the African Trade and Growth Charter will also be held at the ministerial level to discuss ways to implement the charter, strengthen economic cooperation, increase the volume of trade and investments between the two sides, and support economic integration and intra-trade.
On the first day of the summit, the Peace, Security and Governance Forum will also be held to exchange views on security stability, the sustainability of democracy, and ways of cooperation between the United States and African countries to achieve security through partnership between the two sides.
A meeting will also be held on the partnership of cooperation for sustainable health; To discuss ways to build sustainable health systems to meet the existing challenges in the health sector to produce healthier people.
On the first day of the summit, a forum will also be held on the just transition towards clean and sustainable energy and climate adaptation under the title “Together Build Our Green Future” to discuss partnership in order to confront climate adaptation and move towards a sustainable environment on the basis of common priorities.
It is noteworthy that the summit will be held on Thursday at the level of leaders through five sessions dealing with "Africa with good governance, democracy, human rights, justice and the rule of law", "Africa enjoying peace and security", "A prosperous Africa based on comprehensive growth and sustainable development" and "Partnership". Multilateralism with Africa to address global challenges”, and “Strengthening food security and resilient food systems”.
