Stoltenberg: The conflict in Ukraine may be prolonged, and Russia is planning a long-term war.. Zelinsky questions the feasibility of negotiations with Moscow

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that the conflict in Ukraine may continue for a long time, but "it will end at the negotiating table," calling for increased military support for Kiev.

"We should not underestimate Russia. It is planning a long war, and we must understand that President Vladimir Putin is ready to fight this war for a long time and launch new attacks," Stoltenberg said.

He considered that the war in Ukraine "will end at the negotiating table," but at the same time, any solution must guarantee "the victory of Ukraine as an independent and sovereign state."

He added, "The fastest way to achieve this is to provide military support so that President Putin realizes that he cannot win on the battlefield, and he must sit down and negotiate in good faith."

For his part, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky revealed that he had received separate invitations to negotiations with Moscow, questioning the feasibility of potential talks between French President Emmanuel Macron and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"I do not consider the dialogue between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin useful, and I do not think it will lead to any results," Zelensky said in an interview with the French LCI channel.

Macron had earlier expected to discuss ensuring the safety of Ukraine's nuclear sites, calling on Europe to listen to President Vladimir Putin about NATO's approach to Russia's borders.
