The United States.. the largest foreign direct investment in the European Union

  The European Statistical Office in Brussels, Eurostat, said that the total value of foreign investment in the Union, based on figures reported by 13 member states, amounted to 2990 billion euros during the year 2020.
This FDI inflow through the final investment economy was concentrated among a relatively small number of developed countries. The highest investment economy was that of the United States, which accounted for a quarter of the total investment of €752 billion (25.1% of the total value of the final investment economy), followed by Germany with €425 billion (14.2%), France with €367 billion (12.3%) and the Kingdom The United States with €351 billion (11.7%) and Switzerland with €255 billion (8.5%).
Luxembourg was the largest immediate investment economy.
The total inward FDI positions of the spot investment economy of the 13 EU member states amounted to €3,322 billion.
Luxembourg accounted for nearly a quarter of total investment with €725 billion (22.9% of the total through the immediate economy), followed by the Netherlands with €598 billion (18.9%), Switzerland with €353 billion (11.2%), and the United Kingdom with €350 billion. (11.1%) and Germany €271 billion (8.6%).
